The power of the simple words Thank You is astounding. These two little words if expressed at the right time and in the right manner can do wonders not only to a relationship, but even to one's soul. However, many people do find themselves struggling to express themselves and keep procrastinating. To make matters simple for you here are a few pointers at how to write a perfect thank you note.
Personal details in a thank you note are extremely appreciated. Tell your friends to whom you are writing the note about your experience. Describe every minute detail about the gift or their gesture which made you feel gratitude towards them. Explain to them what you did with the gift or what was the impact of their help to you. Also, let them know that you are thinking of them while recalling the details. This makes them feel more connected to you.
Do not send thank you notes via email or messages on phone.
Buy good quality stationary like embossed cards, and write a hand-written note.
Write a draft in a rough paper with all the random thoughts that come to you mind before writing the fair and final note.
Use a fountain or a gel pen.

Greet the person at the beginning of the letter. A "Dear _name_"or a "My Dear _name_" works perfectly well.

While writing the note, you must mention the past, when your paths crossed, and also allude to the future with the promise of meeting again soon.
It will not be an overkill to thank once again towards the end of the note.
Once you have thanked you must end the letter with the proper regards. It could be "With Love", or just "love".
Do not exaggerate
Try to be your natural self. If you are stiff then the thank you will seem forced.
In case of monetary gift never name the sum.
Do not include any personal information not related to the gratitude.
